Megan Fox: Biography, Movies, Family, Career and More

Megan Fox is an American actress best known for blockbuster films such as Transformers, Jennifer’s Body, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Born on May 16, 1986, in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, she began performing at a young age before moving toward acting and modeling as a teenager.

Her career has covered action films, horror, comedy, television, voice work and independent projects. While her early fame was closely linked to Transformers, her role as Jennifer Check in Jennifer’s Body has become one of the defining performances of her career.

Who Is Megan Fox?

Megan Fox is an American actress and producer whose mainstream breakthrough came with Transformers in 2007. She returned as Mikaela Banes in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen in 2009.

Fox later played April O’Neil in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and its 2016 sequel. Her filmography also includes The Expendables 4, Subservience, and voice work in Five Nights at Freddy’s 2.

Her career is notable because it has moved between major studio productions and projects that developed their own long-term fan followings.

Megan Fox’s Early Life and Career

Fox was born in Tennessee and was raised in Rockwood before moving with her family to Florida when she was 10. She began drama and dance training at five and started modeling and acting as a teenager.

Her first credited film appearance came in the 2001 movie Holiday in the Sun. She subsequently appeared in television productions and films before landing the role that would dramatically raise her profile.

Her early career shows a familiar Hollywood path: training during childhood, small screen and film appearances, and eventually a breakout role in a major franchise.

Megan Fox and Transformers

Fox became internationally recognizable after playing Mikaela Banes in Michael Bay’s Transformers in 2007.

The film placed her alongside Shia LaBeouf and introduced her to a huge global audience. She reprised the role in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen in 2009.

The Transformers period remains one of the most commercially visible stages of her career, but it does not tell the whole story of her work as an actress.

Why Jennifer’s Body Became So Important to Her Career

When Jennifer’s Body was released in 2009, Fox played Jennifer Check, a high-school student who becomes possessed and begins attacking male classmates.

The film blends horror, dark comedy and satire, with Fox and Amanda Seyfried at the center of the story.

Its reputation changed considerably over time. What was initially a difficult commercial and critical moment for the movie eventually developed into a strong cult following. Fox has also identified the film as a personal favorite among her own movies.

That later appreciation is one reason discussions about Fox’s career often extend beyond Transformers.

Megan Fox in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Fox returned to major franchise filmmaking in 2014 when she played April O’Neil in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. She reprised the character in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows in 2016.

The films gave Fox another high-profile action role and connected her to a franchise with decades of history across comics, animation, television and film.

Megan Fox’s Recent Acting Work

Fox has continued acting beyond her most recognizable early roles.

Her more recent credits include The Expendables 4 in 2023, Subservience in 2024, and appearances in television and voice projects during 2025. IMDb also lists a role in Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 and appearances in Overcompensating.

This later stage of her career demonstrates that her screen work has not been limited to the franchise films that first made her famous.

Megan Fox’s Family

Fox was previously married to actor Brian Austin Green. The marriage ended in divorce in 2021, and they have three sons together: Noah, Bodhi and Journey.

Fox later had a daughter, Saga Blade, with musician and actor Colson Baker, professionally known as Machine Gun Kelly. Saga was born in March 2025.

Fox and Baker’s relationship has received considerable media attention, but their personal circumstances have changed over time. Recent reporting has described them as closely involved in co-parenting while maintaining separate residences, rather than presenting their relationship status as straightforwardly defined.
